Become your best self with the support of brainspotting and coaching

Coaching for athletes, professionals/ executives, artists and creatives, as well as those seeking to enhance or explore possibilites within themselves.

How is coaching different than therapy?

Coaching is action-oriented and future-focused, helping people learn from experience and create solutions to achieve their goals. Therapy is insight-oriented and past-focused, helping people understand their context, patterns, and feelings to heal from the past and find new ways of being. During our work together, we will be focused on meeting specific goals around an area of your life, such as career, performance, or personal interest, and not focused on symptoms which may be causing distress.

How many sessions will I need to see success?

How many sessions it takes to achieve your goals is dependent upon several factors, some being the goals you are trying to achieve, what type of coaching you choose to engage in, your level of commitment to assignments outside of sessions or how your brain responds to the brainspotting process. Typically we see positive results from 1-5 brainspotting enhancement sessions and Katie’s typical coaching protocol is an 8 week minimum.

Can I do both brainspotting enhancement and traditional coaching?

Absolutely! You can mix and match your coaching services to best meet your goals and needs. Brainspotting enhancement sessions are scheduled as requested. Traditional coaching is typically an 8 week minimum commitment, so it’s easy to intertwine the two.

How much does coaching cost?

Brainspotting enhancement sessions are either 60 or 90 minutes long. 60 minute sessions are $160 and 90 minute sessions are $245 per session. If doing onsite brainspotting with horse present 90 minute sessions are required.

Traditional coaching includes one, 60 minute session per week, one 30 minute phone call per week and two email check ins. Cost is $250 per week and the program is typically an 8 week minimum.

Can I use insurance to help pay for coaching?

No, you can not use insurance to pay for your coaching services, as you would need a formal mental health diagnosis for insurance to cover services ( coaching does provide mental health diagnosis). If you feel therapy is a more appropriate fit for your needs, please reach out and I can help you find a referral!

Brainspotting for Performance Enhancement

Are you interested in enhancing your skills, gaining more confidence or getting out of a slump? Performance enhancement and executive coaching services are geared toward supporting those who wish to grow their creative energies, increase confidence, gain access to their best selves, or deepen their understanding and connection to their life’s purpose and their own abilities. Through a combination of brainspotting and coaching, we will explore and uncover access to your best self in a specific area.

How Brainspotting works

Our eyes and brains are intricately woven together and signals sent from our eyes are deeply processed in the brain which then reflexively and intuitively redirects where we look. Adverse life experiences and stress can overwhelm the brain’s processing capacity, causing our brain to function less effectively. Brainspotting uses our field of vision to find where we are holding these experiences, seeking the specific internal spot where the experience is stored. It then allows deep, non-verbal processing to release and resolve whatever is held.  Brainspotting is based on the premise that the brain is naturally self-healing and the role of the administrator is to set and hold a frame that promotes the participants innate self-healing capacities.

Why is Brainspotting helpful for performance enhancement?

Brainspotting (BSP) is a powerful brain-based intervention that helps our brains repair neural connections that have been modified due to stress, injuries, or confusing and upsetting events. BSP can help to rewire and heal modified pathways that may have been impacted by certain experiences, allowing us to have a more conscious awareness of our bodies and responses.

Brainspotting enhancement is an ideal support for those seeking to work through performance related anxiety, fear after an injury or are in a “slump” with their performance and want to boost confidence.   It is also helpful for professionals and entrepreneurs who may be struggling with public speaking, motivation, or setting work / life boundaries.

Performance Enhancement Brainspotting Can Help With:

Performance anxiety

Low motivation

Fear after an injury

Imposter syndrome

No longer enjoying your sport, profession or creative space

Being in a performance " slump" or creative block

Increasing self awareness

Increase self confidence and clarity in decision making

Feeling “lost” and uncertain about your life’s path

Wanting to take it to the “next level”

 Equestrian Specific Performance Work

Katie specializes in working with equestrians who may be seeking to recover from an injury/ fall or traumatic experience with their horse, overcome performance anxiety, or simply enhance the connection with their horse. In addition to being a certified brainspotting practitioner, Katie is also trained in equine assisted therapy, is an equestrian herself and has a passion for understanding of how horses and humans impact each other. She uses this intersection of professional training and personal experience to guide and deepen the process when working with horses and their humans.

Because of horses' sensitivity to our energy, Brainspotting can also enhance the effectiveness of training sessions, removing negative energies and history we may be carrying, and increasing healthy connection to our horse.

BSP is not a replacement for work with a trainer, but an additional support for the rider/ handler.

Sessions with equestrians can be done in person in my Westbrook office, via telehealth or at your barn with your horse present ( within a 20 mile radius of Gray, ME)
