KATIE DOLINSKY, MA, LMFT

Hi! And welcome. I am so glad that you found me.
My practice is dedicated to increasing feelings of connection and satisfaction in relationships. I love helping individuals, couples and families repair or build the relationships they have always wanted. I approach my clients with curiosity and respect, honoring each individual experience. I work with a range of issues but specialize in trauma, relationship/ relational issues, family conflict, and substance abuse. I also love working with people who are seeking a deeper connection with themselves.
A bit about my training and background; I hold my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota and am a fully licensed marriage and family therapist in the states of Minnesota and Maine. I have provided in- home family therapy services, school based therapy services ( children and adolescents) and worked in a substance abuse treatment center. I have experience providing individual, couple, family and group therapy to individuals struggling with substance abuse and trauma and to family members navigating a loved one struggling. I have also worked at a clinic dedicated to helping families through postpartum and perinatal issues and focused on family development. I am currently focusing my practice on more holistic and somatic therapy approaches, such as brainspotting and equine assisted psychotherapy.

I am a member of several professional organizations including the Minnesota Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, The Midwest Brainspotting Institute and the International Society for Accelerated Resolution Therapy (IS-ART). I am in good standing with the MN and ME Marriage and Family Therapy boards.
My therapy style is collaborative, direct, and genuine; I enjoy laughter and use humor often in my sessions. My treatment modality is systems focused, attachment based, trauma informed, and culturally sensitive. Therapy with me is heavily focused on relational dynamics, communication patterns and accessing unmet needs. I also focus on healing the whole person, and often use brain based somatic and relational therapy in my work like Brainspotting and equine assisted psychotherapy to help clients resolve issues that may not shift with talk therapy alone.
Personally, I find myself happily married and the mother of two who make me laugh everyday and teach me much about myself. My own experience with recovery provides me a unique perspective that I love to share with the clients and families that I work with. My family and I reside in the state of Maine and I enjoy horseback riding, hiking, the beach and spending time with friends and family.
