Frequently Asked Questions
How long does therapy last?
Therapy length is dependent on several factors including presenting symptoms/ issues, client goals and time able to dedicate to therapy, among other things. Therapy goals are always determined at the start of our work together and we will review those goals every 3 months. I see most of my clients for 6 months to 2 years depended on their needs. Some people choose to engage in therapy on and off for the duration of their lives to continue to heal and grow! You can choose to terminate therapy at any time.
How often do we meet?
Frequency of sessions depends on client need, our schedules and financial ability. I find it therapeutically beneficial to start out seeing clients once a week or once every two weeks and then gradually decrease frequency as goals are being met. That being said, clients are always in control of session frequency.
How much does therapy cost?
I do not accept insurance, so my therapy is self pay. Please see my rates page for more information. In general, my sessions are $175 for an intake and $160 for a 55 minute session.
Do you provide in person or online sessions?
I provide both! I am in the office several days per week and offer telehealth several days per week. We can switch back and forth between whatever works best for you, or stick to one modality.
What can I expect in therapy?
Our first session is an intake session, where I learn more about your presenting concerns. You may be assigned a formal mental health diagnosis during this visit. We will also discuss treatment goals and potential therapy modalities. You always have full autonomy in deciding to engage in any suggested therapy modality or treatment. You can expect to discuss personal and sometimes challenging subjects which may be contributing to your presenting concerns. You can expect that I will provide support and apply therapeutic training and knowledge to your issues to help you meet your goals. Much feedback from my clients is also that they enjoy coming to therapy, feel connected, understood and supported, and we even laugh sometimes! My goal is to make your therapy experience safe, helpful and positive.
Do you offer a free consultation?
I offer a 15 minutes free consultation via phone or telehealth to answer any questions you may have before beginning the therapy process.
Do you like your job?
I love my job! I have wanted to be a therapist since I was a junior in HS. I enjoy hearing my clients stories and helping people navigate life's challenges. I especially enjoy working with relational issues and using brainspotting as a healing modality.
